Uniform and Equipment

Hurworth School Maths & Computing College believe that dress and presentation help to create good personal standards among students, and parents are requested to give their full support to the school in adhering to the range of clothing recommended.

Uniform

Boys

  • Plain black trousers
  • Plain white shirt
  • Summer Maroon Polo Shirt
  • V-Necked sweater with school logo
  • Black shoes
  • Jewellery - Only one stud per ear max and
    one watch
  • Appropriate outdoor coat

Girls

  • Plain black trousers (or skirt- plain or pleated)
  • Plain white shirt
  • Summer Maroon Polo Shirt
  • V-Necked sweater with school logo
  • Black shoes with heels no higher than 6 cm (shoes should completely cover the foot for Health and Safety reasons)
  • Jewellery - Only one stud per ear max and
    one watch
  • Appropriate outdoor coat

PE/Games Kit

Boys

  • School rugby shirt
  • White/Blue polo shirt
  • Plain black football shorts
  • Plain black football socks
  • Plain black tracksuit (optional)
  • Football/Hockey boots
  • Training shoes

Girls

  • School round-neck PE sweatshirt
  • White/blue polo shirt
  • Plain black football shorts
  • Plain black gym skirt (optional)
  • Plain black football socks
  • Plain black tracksuit (optional)

What not to wear

  • No leather, corduroy or denim trousers
  • No leggings, ski pants or tight trousers
  • Skirts should be a suitable length - no mini skirts
  • Ties other than school ties are not to be worn
  • No trainers or leisure boots (e.g. Rockport)
  • No hooded tops, tracksuit tops or coats made from denim or leather

  • Calculator
  • A reading book
  • Student Planner

Prohibited Items

  • Alcohol/Drugs of any kind
  • Weapons of any kind, including any form of gun (e.g. BB/Imitation/Air)
  • Knives or sharp bladed objects
  • Laser pens
  • Chewing gum
  • Mobile phones
  • Walkmen/MP3 players/Personal Stereos
     

All of the above items will be consficated and only returned when a parent/guardian attends school to collect the item. It is important to note that the Governors and Staff of Hurworth School DO NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR THE DAMAGE/LOSS TO PROPERTY BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL. Any mobile phone/MP3 player/walkman/iPod brought to school must be handed to the office on arrival. Failure to do so will result in a sanction being applied.
